Dry, deadpan defiance runs through this design, aimed at anyone who thinks a sword handed up from a pond makes someone fit to rule. The line reads “Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government,” argued with a straight face.

Between the two halves of the text, a white arm rises out of two wavy cyan lines of water, gripping a long white sword held flat with a yellow crossguard and pommel. The flared capitals alternate white and yellow against black, with SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT set largest.

Wear it to an election night watch party, a civics class debate or a Renaissance faire where someone inevitably shows up with a foam sword. It also suits the friend who answers every political argument with this exact line and a raised eyebrow.
